Posted by John Miller on July 13, 2010

A photograph centering on a person or small group’s facial expression while they are in a still position is known as a portrait, or portraiture. The personality, moods and likeness of the person or persons emerge through. Aside from the face, portrait photography can also include the entire body and the background of the subject. When taking a portrait picture the person or group is usually looking straight at the camera.

Unlike other styles of photography, portrait photography doesn’t usually include professionals. Some examples of portrait photography are graduations, special events, and weddings & are usually displayed in private homes. Numerous are done on studio with several backgrounds to choose from.

(1) Inspect the photography closely.

When it comes to picking a wedding photographer, the main thing is what kind of pictures they take! Are the photos likable: when looking at their work, be honest. What is your opinion of the layout, design, and construction of the album? Are all of the photos focused with colors clear and bright?

2. Investigate The Studio

The bigger wedding photography studios have multiple photographers and you should verify who will be working your wedding and review their past work. An operator that is smaller is the other choice. You almost always know who will be there on your special day, you have already seen the quality of their work, and they often provide a better, more personalized service.

Easy Ways To Make Money With Event Photography

Posted by Don Wong on February 19, 2010

One of the many ways you can make money as a photographer is to specialise on events. Christenings, weddings, and all sorts of other events where people create memories can be well paid business. The great thing is that all you need is a good digital camera, tons of memory cards, and some business cards.

How to do it

Cover only events where it is hard for people to take the pics themselves and where they will want to keep their memories frozen in film.

One idea is to go to kids sports events. Get permission from the coach to click pics for the parents watching and then start clicking away. If you turn up with a wopping big telephoto lens like the ones used for pro coverage of events, you will be taken seriously. Make sure you get all the children doing great action shots and then hand out flyers to all the parents watching with your web address. If you can grab the parents email address so you can email them the URL of you site then upload the pics to your web site that day and email everyone. If you have a simple shopping cart set up you can make money in a few hours as people pop in to see the pics and buy them for $20 or more a pop.

Actual Day Photography In Singapore

Posted by Ray Wong on February 18, 2010

The wedding couple are the two most important people on a wedding day. To get some excellent portraits, the photographer should seclude the wedding couple from the celebration for a while to capture the intimate moments after the ceremony. This will give the wedding couple some time away from the wedding as well.

The portrait session will give the photographer enough time to spend with the wedding couple to capture the pictures. But this does not always happen since time is rarely a luxury anyone has; on the actual day. The time taken for pictures can well vary from an hour to no time at all. It can take up to an hour for the photographer to take the pictures.

The photographer will require some time with the bride and groom, but when is a good time?

Most photographers tend to believe that the window before the reception is very suitable for portrait photography, since the couple would still look fresh at that time.

Sometimes the bride and groom would want to start the portrait shoot even before the ceremony says Bradley Hanson, award winning photographer. He generally starts by photographing the bride getting ready in such events.

Some Top Tips For Your Wedding Day Photography

Posted by Joel Wong on February 13, 2010

Wedding photography includes pictures of the couple before the marriage, as well as coverage of the actual wedding ceremony and reception. The two approaches in wedding photography are traditional and photojournalism. Traditional wedding photography consists of classically posed images. In this approach, there is much interaction with the photographer on the day of the wedding. In the photojournalistic approach, the images recorded are much more subtle with less photographer interaction. These two approaches are the two extremes of photographic styles. Today most photographers will side with one of the two styles.

When you are hiring a wedding photographer to shoot your special day, there are a few things you should keep in mind. Every photographer possesses an individual style. There is some research you should do before you decide who you want photographing your wedding. It is recommended to start looking for the right photographer well ahead of time. Look into your photographers creative side more then the business side when hiring a wedding photographer. One shouldn’t be concerned about comparing various package details or the number of prints he is going to get. Once you have chosen a photographer for the job, take care of all minute details then and there so that the photographer you hired is not preoccupied about with thoughts of collecting his payment, on the wedding day.

How To Pick An Event Photographer

Posted by Albert Frank on February 13, 2010

There are many company occasions, such as the visit of a major client, or a high profile conference, for which you need to capture the happenings in form of pictures. Taking these pictures requires corporate photographers.

Taking good quality photographs at an event is a rare skill. Unlike most other types of photography, the person capturing an occasion hardly has any control over the way the event unfolds or how the people react. Covering an event asks for a lot of talent, and the photographer needs to be able to handle tricky situations. The most important thing is that there are no retakes for an event photographer.

There are some important things that you need to know of before you go ahead and choose an event photographer. He must have a lot of precision and good knowledge of light settings for the camera, as most company events take place in covered halls. It is also important to ensure that the photographer has a good camera and side equipment like flash.
